The rules for using Starlane. By creating an account you agree to them and to the privacy notice.

Who you are dealing with

Starlane is run by FAXTORIAL TECH SRL (VAT RO36179862), Str. 1 Decembrie 1918, nr. 53, Timișoara, Romania — office@faxtorial.com. You must be 16 or older to hold an account.

Your account

• One account, one pilot, per person. Running extra accounts to feed one another is cheating.
• Your callsign is public and permanent. It must not impersonate anyone or be obscene or hateful; we may rename one that is.
• Keep your password to yourself. You are responsible for what is done with your account.

The universe

• It does not reset. What you earn is kept for as long as the game runs.
• Credits, items and ships are not money and are not your property. They have no cash value and cannot be exchanged for money or anything outside the game. Buying or selling them, or accounts, outside the game is not allowed.
• Loss is part of play. Ships can be destroyed and cargo taken by other players within the game's rules, and we do not restore it.
• The game changes. We tune prices, rules and content — including things you have earned — to keep it fair and alive, and we say what changed on the changelog.
• Bugs. Using a defect for gain instead of reporting it is cheating, and we may reverse what it produced.

Conduct

No harassment, hate, threats, spam, or anyone's personal details on the signal board or anywhere else players can read. No bots or scripts playing for you, and no attempts to attack, overload or reverse-engineer the service.

We may remove content and suspend or close an account that breaks these terms. If we do, we email you to say why, and you can appeal by replying — a person reads it and answers.

Ideas you file

Ideas posted to the signal board may be built into the game. By posting one you let us use it, and we owe nothing for it beyond what the board itself pays when an idea ships.

Supporting the game

The supporter tier is optional. It buys cosmetics and a view of your own history, never an advantage in play. Refunds and cancelling are on the refunds page.

Availability and liability

We work to keep Starlane running and backed up, but it is provided as it is: we cannot promise it is never down, never wrong, or never loses recent progress.

As far as the law allows, our total liability to you for anything arising from the game is limited to what you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss. Nothing here limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law does not allow to be limited — and nothing here takes away your rights as a consumer.

Ending

You can delete your account at any time from Account. If we ever close the game, we give at least 30 days' notice and refund any monthly payment for the unused part of the month.

Law

These terms are governed by Romanian law, and disputes go to the courts of Timișoara. If you are a consumer living elsewhere in the EU, you keep the protection of the mandatory laws of your own country and can bring a claim there. Romania's consumer authority is ANPC (anpc.ro).

Changes

We post changes here with the date, and email account holders before a change that takes something away from them.
