What changed
Starlane is built in the open and mostly built from the signal board. Ideas from players are marked, with what shipping them paid.
The lanes have names, and the map has an edge that is not final
UA102026-09-11
- Every lane you fly is a named thing that says where it came from. Sixteen of them.
- You only learn a lane's name once you have flown it.
- Three gates are being raised at the edge of charted space, at Lyra Shoal, Draco Fringe and Hydra Expanse.
- You cannot fly through one yet, and that is the point. No date is promised — what is promised is that an opened gate adds somewhere real to go.
Somewhere to take the ore
UA92026-09-11
- Refining is a place now. Five systems have a smelter; you carry ore to them and the alloys wait for you there.
- Hand it over and it leaves your hold straight away. Fly off in the meantime if you like.
- The Refining skill finally does something — 6% off a batch per level.
- A smelter will not touch cargo with no manifest.
The navigation stops being a wall of words
UA82026-09-11
- Three things in the bar, not sixteen: where you are, the chart, and your record. On a phone the chrome went from half the screen to under a quarter.
- Nothing has moved out of reach — everything is named on the screens it belongs to.
- The cost, so it is not a surprise: chart to belt is two clicks now instead of one.
- And the commodities have icons, with marks for the four factions.
Your log stops shouting about what you already did
UA72026-09-10
- A finished arc folds itself away, keeps its name, gains a tick, and sits at the bottom.
- Locked arcs stay above the finished ones — something you cannot do yet is worth seeing.
- And replies on the signal board are signed “The Architects”.
Your pilot has a face
UA62026-09-09
- Pick one of two portraits when you create a character. Each origin offers its own pair.
- Already flying? There is a panel on your account page to pick a face once.
- It is set once and cannot be changed, the same way your origin cannot.
- Nothing about it affects the game.
